Billericay beat the league leaders to go up to 8th in the table in a game that they should have really won by more. Hampton and Richmond looked a shadow of the team that has lead the league for most of the season. They only created one real chance in the game. Elliott Godfrey's shot hit Ricky Millard and fell kindly for ex-Maidenhead striker Lawrence Yaku, but he shot wide. Billericay however created a few chances with Nathan Elder nearly scoring with a header from a cross supplied by Tarkan Mustafa.
After the break continued to dominate the game. Nathan Elder had a header cleared off the line, which he should have scored from, and Danny Hockton had a shot that hit the post. Billericay eventually took a deserved lead through Nathan Elder who scored his first goal for two months in a total of 14 games. Matthew Game played a perfect ball through the middle of the Hampton defence and Elder ran on to lash the ball past Matthew Lovett in the Hampton goal. Elder should have made it two when he was clean through moments later, but shot wide. Overall it was an excellent performance from Billericay. |
